Closet doors

This weekend I changed the front entrance closet doors. I took out the old sliding nasty ones and put in bi-fold raised panel white doors. I had to bring down the opening from an 8 foot hole to an 80×48 inch opening. I had to put up a 2×4 frame and drywalled the front and back. The doors went in no problem.

Wrong number

For the last few days some woman from Japan keeps calling my cellphone.
I know it’s Japan because Google says +81########## is a Japan number and when she leaves a message it’s all Domo arigato Mr. Roboto crap.
Usually the call comes when I’m at work and it’s on silent so I see the phone display light up but can’t answer it.
Today I answered it after joking about it with someone at work to try and tell her she had the wrong number. Poor woman sounded so confused.

Marriage license

I heard on the news that some German politician is running for office and proposed that marriages should require a licence and would have to apply for a renewal in order for it to extend the relationship. If you chose not to renew the marriage would dissolve.

End tables

Nothing’s new.
Screwing around building things, taking time off fixing up the house, playing xbox 360 and getting ready for winter.
I think it’s going to be a long one.

I am in the middle of making some end tables. I don’t think the finish is going to look good since they’re made out of pine. It’s a light soft wood that doesn’t take color evenly or dark enough.

Everytime I see a maple or oak tree I wonder how it would look like as a table. Am I evil?

Extra cost for nuts

Dairy Queen charges $0.59 for nuts when ordering a sundae.
I believe these should be standard on any sundae and should not be an added feature. They should given as a separate sealed packet to be called a ‘nut packet’ given to each consumer if requested. This will assist those allergic to nuts (another peeve).

Big ladder, small car

This afternoon I fit a 21 foot ladder in my 4-door sedan without involving the trunk, folding the seats down or having it stick out of the exterior.
Figure that one out.

The next car I get is definitely going to be silver again !

    New music sucks

Rock music. What happened to guitar solos? Why do bands not do that anymore? It doesn’t have to be a long fast 2 minute thing, just a short section.

Even bands that used to make it a point to have a nice long one in every song like Metallica. Kirk Hammett hasn’t had any sort of solo in his last few albums which is crazy. What happened to him? A solo is how a guitarist puts in his creative stamp on a song. You’d think they could hardly wait so they could bust out and express themselves. Now its all power chords and memorable hooks. You don’t need two rhythm guitarists for that crap.

Remember the solos in Aerosmith – Amazing, Guns ‘N Roses – November Rain, Metallica – One, Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb, Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven, Lynard Skynard – Free Bird etc.

    Coffee cup circle

I decided to put on a freshly washed black T-shirt today that I noticed had a bit of lint on it. An hour after I was wearing it I noticed a white mark on it so started flaking it off thinking it was dried laundry soap.

Upon closer examination and more scratching with my fingernail, the mark turned into a perfectly shaped white circle. I felt as though I was uncovering a treasure to unearth buried Indian handicrafts.

Using a bit of water and a nearby jacket I diligently continued rubbing the circle off. Soon, I began to smell the scent of old coffee around me. You know the kind…it’s on your car seat and in your cup holder.

I smelled the ring on my shirt and low and behold – I have a stinky ring on my shirt.
Who the hell would put a leaky cup of coffee cup on someone’s newly washed shirt? It was down in the laundry room on the drying rack. I don’t see how that could have been possible.

Here’s what I’m thinking: Someone went down to do laundry with a coffee in their hand. They were being stupid by doing too many things at once and spilled the thing. They looked around for a place to put it down and since there was only my white deep freezer, they needed a rag or coaster. The only thing near was my rack of clothes. They took the darkest shirt so the coffee wouldn’t show up and used my shirt as a frickin’ coaster. They did their business, put my shirt back and left.

I’m making a new peeve. “People who use other people’s black t-shirts as coffee cup coasters.”
