I finished this toy box for my Godson. I’ve never done raised panels before so this is the first time I’ve used the panel bit set with my router. It turned out really good. The frame is made from maple and the top and panels are made from ash.
Horrible start to the morning.
Normally I leave for work at 8:15 to get there at 8:30. I leave today at 7:55 so I could grab a breakfast at Tim Hortons.
I go through and I ask for an egg sandwich and she said “I’m sorry sir, we do not have any breakfast sandwiches today.” I said “How come?” She said because she doesn’t have any eggs. I guess someone forgot to go to the grocery store this morning. I had to sit 10 minutes to make my way through the drive-thru because it had a curb to keep you in.
So I try the one near my work.
I make my way through a busy line up and when I get to the speaker I just hear a bunch of clicks. The cars ahead of me went through quickly but now I’m sitting there with a pile of cars building behind me. I thought maybe it wasn’t working and orders were made at the window. I roll up and she says “two creams one sugar?” I said “No, I thought it wasn’t working.” So I said “Forget it!” and rolled off. I’m sitting here hungry.
Ever since the Americans took it over it sucks. Their donuts are all shipped in frozen and taste rotten.
I heard on the radio KFC is taking steps to please the animal rights people by only choosing chicken suppliers who gas their chickens. I wonder how that’s going to taste.
Bob’s engaged, date to be announced but it’ll be somewhere tropical so save your pennies.
I also put my house up for sale today, we move in to the new house for December.
I also picked up a new Bosch 10″ sliding dual compound mitre saw that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I needed it to do baseboards for the house and running back and forth from the garage to make cuts on the tablesaw would have taken forever. I’ll need it to build a patio at the new place next year anyway – everyone needs a good mitre saw right?
I was at this exhibition show for guys this weekend. They had 4-wheeler demos, take a picture in a Lamborghini, golf stuff, boat displays etc. Anyway, there was a stand set up for getting your boat and leisure watercraft license which lasts for life. ‘Don’t pay until you pass’. For kicks I wrote the test which was 35 multiple choice questions and you could get 9 wrong before you failed.
I passed. I can ride a jet-ski or a boat now.
This is my new house if everything goes well.
2510 sq. ft.
9ft ceilings on main floor
Kitchen/nook w/ breakfast bar, bay windows
Roman tub in master bedroom ensuit
I’ve noticed that when you roll up the rim before you finish your coffee the rest of the cup sucks.
I don’t see me getting better using the 5th button on the guitar from the guitar hero/rock band Xbox games. Crazy. Real guitar is easier.
I’ve started a project, a shaker-style workbench found in the Dec. issue of Popular Woodworking. I’ll be going slow with this one learning as I go. It’ll be made of solid maple and will use most of the tools I’ve bought and tricks I’ve learned so far.
I’ve got the legs made and glued to a sturdy base now. I think it’ll weigh about 400lb when finished. I’ll have to bolt the big pieces together so I can move it if I ever decide to sell my house.
