Domino Support Bracket

I made a better support bracket for my Festool Domino XL 700. This one bolts onto the base and is larger than the one that came with the kit and also has clamping elements to allow you to slide a clamp in and hold your work piece for you.
It’s building onto the Domino Dock plans I followed to hold the Domino upright in the cradle.

Cut bolts quick and safe

I needed to trim many bolts to an odd length. This is how I did it using a scrap of wood, drill and a jig saw.

Shortening tablesaw rails

I bought shorter 32” rails for my tablesaw to replace my current 52” ones for my new smaller shop space.  The generic brand didn’t fit my old fence which wanted the square tubing ¼” wider that was on my original 52” fence setup so the clamp wouldn’t grab.

I went to a metal supplier and got flat aluminum bar that was 1.5” wide and ¼” thick, drilled/countersunk holes and tapped mating holes in the 32” rail to build it out.

Works like a charm.

Cost me $16 to fix the problem

Peter Accent Chair

I saw this “Peter Accent Chair” in a store and decided I’ll make a pair. I’ll try my hand at upholstery. It has a bit of shaping going on at the joints.

New 15″ Planer

I got a deal on a used King Indistrial 15″ Planer to replace the older model I have (free upgrade) so I took the truck to pick it up.

I also picked up these 6′ truck ramps, I don’t know why I haven’t thought of them before it would have saved me money on U-Haul trailer rentals.  I can dolly things up and down if they’re light enough.   This time though the planer was too heavy so I had to slide it down the ramps.

My plan was to put the planer stand between the ramps so half way down the heavy top portion would just slide onto it and save me from liftin it up onto the stand.

It worked great.

Stanley #113 compass plane

This is the best looking Stanley #113 compass plane I’ve seen.  This particular one is a type #2 from 1880-1891 and it moves like butter.   Nothing stiff or corroded like it was out of the box.
